USMNT Wins Gold Cup

The United States beat Panama 1-0 on a goal by brek Shea in the 69th minute to win the 2013 CONCACAF Gold Cup. This win means that they will be playing in a playoff against the winner of the 2015 gold cup to determine the CONCACAF berth for the 2017 FIFA confederations Cup.

With the us winning today against Honduras 3-1 they advance to the CONCACAF Gold Cup finals on Sunday. This win gives the US a ten game win streak which is a record for the USMNT.

2013 women's lacrosse World Cup

All star game

The American League has won the all star game 3-0. This is the first time ever that two consecutive all star games have ended in a shutout with the AL therefore getting home field advantage in the World Series. Kipnis ended the game.

Today Israel won two medals in sambo a gold by Alice Schlesinger and a silver. The gold by Schlesinger gives her two medals for the event. One in belt wrestling and one in sambo. This gives Israel 4 medals overall.

Wimbledon history

For the first time since 1936 there is a British winner of the gentlemen's singles at wimbledon as Andy murray beat Novak djokovic in a grueling thriller 6-4 7-5 6-4. Murray will probably be knighted and congrats to him.  Who knows maybe the cubs will win a World Series next year.

Jason kipnis and Justin masterson are both all stars as are Andrew mcCutchen, Locke,grilling, and Alvarez as well. There is a final vote that rookie phenom yasiel puig is in.

No hitter

Congratulations to homer bailey of the Cincinnati reds for on pitching his second career no-hitter tonight in a 3-0 win over the giants. This is the first no-hitter of the year and the first since Homer Bailey pitched one last year on September 28th.  This was the 280th in MLB history. 

Israelis in the NBA

On Sunday the Dallas Mavericks signed Israeli point guard Gal Mekel to a three year deal becoming the second Israeli to ever have a contract with an NBA team after omri casspi. 

Is this a sign of improvement in Israeli basketball.

Fun fact of the day

When the Philadelphia phillies lost their 10000th game and became the first American franchise to lose that amount of games Ryan Howard struck out and the phillies crowd celebrated that accomplishment. In Cleveland they would have booed. 

July 1 NCAA Changes

Today is July 1st which means that the NCAA fiscal year is starting which means that all changes to conferences happen such as Pittsburgh and Syracuse are now in the ACC and the big east split into two with the Big east being non football and the American Athletic Conference which will include football.
